Things to Do In Louisville this Weekend; June 6th-8th

There are just a ton of fun things to do in Louisville this weekend.  School is finally out and it is the official start of summer.

One of my favorite things to do once it gets warm is the First Friday Trolley Hop. If you make it downtown, be sure to wander into my favorite store the “Red Tree” where you can grab a glass of wine and search for treasures.

 

Here is a list of everything you can do this first weekend in June:

Friday, June 6

First Friday Trolley Hop The Main and Market and Fourth Street trolleys are running, there is free parking at Slugger Field after 6 p.m., and the trolleys run from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Don’t miss the Summer Mixtape openning at the Block Party Handmade Boutique! And swing by The Marcus Lindsey for two great bands and the Holy Mole Food truck!

Bicentennial Park Concert Series Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, check out The Hart Strings and Barefoot Movement at New Albany’s Bicentennial Park. The concert is free and good for music lovers of all age!

Saturday, June 7

Butchertown Art Fair Looking for Art, Crafts, food trucks and family fun this weekend? Check out the Butchertown art fair with interactive booths for kids, plenty of food trucks and over 80 different vendors. This Fest is over two days so hit it up Sunday too!

Worlds Largest Ice Cream Party Head out to the Big Four Bridge and be a part of the Worlds Largest Ice Cream Party, all to benefit the WHAS 11 Crusade for Children! Tickets are $5 and you must register before you go! It starts at 1 p.m. and run til 3 p.m.

24th Annual Americana World Festival  Americana World Festival is a free, family-oriented event that brings together members of the local community to share and celebrate the cultural heritages of the Louisville Metro community and the neighborhoods surrounding Americana Community Center! Runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday, June 8

Open Mic It’s Open Mic night at the Kentucky Center! Presented by the River City Drum Corp and ArtsReach, and it’s free and open to the public. If you want to perform, simple arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign up and it runs from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The Battle at Tunnel Mill This Saturday and Sunday relive the daring raids in Kentucky and Southern Indiana by the Confederate soldiers. It’s a 35 min drive from Louisville in Charlestown IN, free admission and parking is $10 per car.

Flea Off Market  It’s a new month so this market is back! It’s going all weekend, with over 200 vendors selling everything and pretty much anything. Hours on Saturday and Sunday are from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Head out to the Fresh Start Growers Supply on E Jefferson!
